Dan Wesson BB revolver kit, silver

Just added an old model 12 to my dan wesson collection and am looking for info on older models. Any better gues from the serial number list? Let me know if there's anything about Dan Wesson's that I should be aware of. Maybe you can find a serial number close to one on this list.

Compact and stylish. This 2.5in Chrome revolver licensed by Dan Wesson, offers realistic shooting fun in a handy size. It has authentic markings and a individual serial number stamped into the frame. The revolver features a double action trigger system and adjustable rear sight for extra realism and accuracy. The Dan Wesson revolver is made of metal except for the ergonomic grip constructed in hard ABS plastic.
The revolver comes with black right-hand holster, speed-loader, attachable tactical rail and 6 cartridges.

*If the gun is cocked, the manual safety will not engage. For the safety to engage, the gun must be uncocked. If you cock the gun and then try to engage the safety, you will still be able to pull the trigger...and the gun will shoot the projectile!
**Each shell should be loaded with one steel BB and then loaded into the gun's cylinder.

If you like snubbies, get this Dan Wesson revolver! Its silver-colored frame and cylinder is so realistic, it'll fool just about everyone. Plus, the shells look like loaded firearm cartridges. Instead of primer, powder and a bullet, just load each one with a steel BB. The speedloader is a great tool that'll help you load fast so you can spend more time shooting and less time loading the shells.
The Dan Wesson CO2 BB revolver has a 2.5' barrel and textured grips. It's a great piece if you enjoy shooting firearms but don't want to go to the range for every session.
When shooting a BB gun, everyone in the vicinity should wear safety glasses. Never shoot at hard objects. Steel BBs easily ricochet, so everyone in the area must wear safety glasses. Remember to remove all pets before commencing to shoot.

Markings: The right side of the 9 3/4' barrel shroud is marked “.44 Magnum”, the left is marked with a circled 'DW' logo. The right side of the frame is marked “DAN WESSON ARMS / MONSON, MASS. U.S.A. / 44S001932”. The right of the 6' barrel shroud is marked 'DAN WESSON ARMS / .44 MAGNUM CTG.'.
Barrel Length: 6' & 9 3/4', Vent-Rib. The 6' shroud has a short lug and is cut for barrel porting, though the barrel is not ported. The 9 3/4' shroud has a full lug with no ports.
Sights / Optics: Each of the two barrel shrouds has a replaceable ramp front sight with a colored insert. Currently, both barrel shrouds have a red insert ramp installed. The rear sight is a square notch sight adjustable for windage and elevation, pinned to the topstrap. The vent-rib on the 9 3/4' shroud is drilled, tapped and filled for an optic mount (none included).
Stock Configuration & Condition: Two grips are provided with this revolver. The installed grip is a one-piece large smooth wood, square bottom grip with beatiful grain and Dan Wesson initial logo medallions on either side. This grip is in Fine condition with only a few scattered light marks. There are no chips or cracks in the installed grip. Also included is a similar smooth wood grip with more plain grain with a few scattered light compressions and scuffs, no chips or cracks, in about Very Good-plus condition.

Bore Condition: Both bores are bright with sharp rifling. There is no erosion, however there is some stubborn fouling at the rear of the 6' barrel which should clear out with a patient cleaning.

Overall Condition: This handgun set retains about 94% of its metal finish. The metal surfaces have some scattered light scratches and scuffs. The cylinder has a turn-line. The hammer's checkering is well defined. The screws are undamaged. The markings are clear. The pin heads are unmarred. Overall, the revolver set is in about Very Good-plus condition.

Mechanics: The action functions correctly. The double action pull is smooth and the single action is light and crisp. The cylinder has very little play on all six chambers. We did not fire this handgun. As with all used firearms, a thorough cleaning may be necessary to meet your maintenance standards.
Box, Paperwork & Accessories: This pistol comes in a two-piece styrofoam tray with Dan Wesson cardboard sleeve. The serial number is marked on one end of the tray in marker. Inside the tray is the additional barrel and grip as described as well as a Dan Wesson multi-tool for grip and barrel replacement, Dan Wesson factory feeler-gauge for cylinder gap and a Dunalp feeler gauge set with eight tabs from 0.003' to 0.25'. The tray has wear from the contents with cracks along some of the raised dividers and the sleeve has scattered light wear, in about Very Good condition. The tools are in Fine condition with little wear.
Our Assessment: This is a Dan Wesson Model 744-VH with replaceable barrel and grip, which was a revolutionary concept from Dan Wesson. Not since the original open-top percussion revolvers from Colt was it so easy for the user to change the barrel on a revolver. This package allows for conversion of the same revolver into a 2.5' compact, concealed carry piece to a 9 3/4' target revolver, stopping at 4', 6', and 8' along the way as you choose, though this listing includes only 6' and 9 3/4' barrels. The included barrels are not ported, but the 6' barrel shroud is cut for porting should you get a ported barrel or port the existing barrel. You'll also have your choice of sight inserts with only red included in this listing and others available after-market. The extra grip will allow you to keep the nicely figured installed grip in great condition and other alternatives are available for this frame which should help fit any preference. Though not as popular as some other manufacturers, Dan Wesson earned a reputation, which continues to this day, of fine quality craftsmanship and innovative design. All cartridge firing handguns (even C&R's and antiques) sold to a California resident must be DROS'd. This does not apply to out of state residents.

This gun can only be shipped to an FFL, and it will be shipped from an FFL. It is your responsibility to ensure that the gun is legal to own and receive in your area.
