Introduction
Transfer an app to your Ti-nspire using the Ti-Nspire Link Software.
This page contains resources that may be of interest to students using the TI nSpire CX CAS handheld. If you are wondering which calculator or handheld is right for you, we suggest starting with this link provided by Texas Instruments. We should note that the TI nSpire CX CAS handheld is very different from most calculators and requires time to learn; if you are not willing to put in the time, then this is not the calculator for you.
It is important to note that, at this time, the TI nSpire CX CAS is allowed for use on the SAT, AP Calculus and AP Statistics Exams, but is NOT allowed on the ACT Exam (the TI nSpire CX - without the CAS - is allowed on the ACT Exam). Please consider this in choosing which calculator or handheld is right for you.

Understanding the Licensing Options
License Type | Description |
---|---|
Volume License | This option allows you to install and access the software on a fixed number of computers using a single activation code. The fixed number equals the number of licenses you purchase. |
School-Managed License | This option allows you to install the software on any computer with access to your school’s network. A License Service (server) distributes a fixed number of licenses to computers on the school network. Once a license is activated, the software can be used while connected to the network, or up to 30 days off-network. (Note: after 30 days, the computer must reconnect to the school’s network to continue use of the software.) Free annual license extensions are required. |
How do I know which license version of the software is best for me?
- If you are purchasing between 16 and 29 licenses of the Volume or School-Managed Licenses, it will be less expensive to purchase 30 licenses.
- If the computers do not have easy access to your school’s network, purchase the Volume license type.
- If the number of computers that need to have the software installed is more than the number of students using the software at any one time, the School-Managed license can be a less expensive option.
- If you need only a few licenses to handle year-to-year fluctuations in class size, purchasing subscription licenses can save you money.
- If you plan to use the software for three years or less, the subscription license can be a less expensive option.
Ordering Information
- A minimum of 10 licenses is required for each license type.
- The lower price for 30 or more licenses will automatically be reflected in your cart.
- Volume and school-managed licenses are sent electronically from Texas Instruments. Email address is required for purchase.
